Nabyl LAKHDAR

Nabyl Lakhdar is an engineer with a degree in computer science and management from the Ecole Centrale de Lille. In November 2017, he was appointed Managing Director of the Administration of Customs and Indirect Taxes. Upon his return to Morocco and after a first-hand experience in a multinational company in France, Mr. Lakhdar joined ‘Crédit du Maroc’, where he spent three years tasked with raising international funding. He joined the public sector in 1998. He started as a programming department deputy manager. He immediately revamped the new action plan of the administration that was experiencing a whole host of reforms.

He worked his way to become head of the programming department, head of the information systems division, then in 2010, director of information systems facilitation, entrusted with the task of modernizing the customs administration. He particularly spurred the Badr system, an online customs clearance system for goods in Morocco both for import and for export. In March 2015, he was appointed at the General Tax Department, where he was in charge of all support aspects:HR, budget, information systems, legislation and right after that,hewas appointed, in 2017, at the top position of the Administration of Customs and Indirect Taxes.
